In memory of David Singleton, a Harpenden RUFC select XV of senior players and invited guests managed by former Chairman Steve Evans, will play the Smug Under 17s who won the English U-17s RFU Cup [otherwise known as smug-up-and-coming Harpenden lads] ably supported by the equally smug year group from below at Redbourn Lane on Monday 27th December. The Smugs will be managed by current First XV coach Robin Longden. Kickoff will be 2:00pm.
Regardless of whether the game goes ahead the Club's bar will be open, food will be served, memories will be brought out for sharing, review and embarrassment and on top of this everyone has an excellent excuse to get away from fractious relatives, or get them some fresh air and so maybe let them remember how lucky they are to be part of such a good environment.
So please come along to Redbourn Lane, celebrate a brilliant bloke, an excellent friend and a wonderful husband and dad. Don’t forget to bring your friends and relations for what we hope will be an afternoon redolent of David's great spirit.
After the match the players will sit down to a post Christmas curry prepared by Will The Chef. You are welcome to join them please book behind the Bar the cost is £10 per head.
David Singleton, husband of Jo, father of Jack & Michael, coach and long-serving supporter and sponsor of Harpenden Rugby Club died suddenly on 8 Feb 2010.
We would like to make this an annual celebration of a life- so come along and contribute and extend your festive season
