It is with a sense of huge loss we report the passing of Ed Knight who died on Sunday 19th May 2024. Our thoughts are with his wife Charlotte and children; Toby, Lexi and Rory.

As many of you may know, Ed was heavily involved at Harpenden RFC, having just completed leading Toby’s current Academy age group through all of their mini and junior years as Head Coach.

The rugby club has been a huge part of Ed and his family’s lives, holding many wonderful memories for them and for those who spent time with him. We look forward to supporting the Knight family journey as it continues at HRFC when Toby moves into the Seniors and Rory into the u13’s next season.

Ed was loved, liked and respected by so many people and will leave a gaping hole in his family and friends lives and at the club. He was the epitome of a top, top bloke and we will miss him terribly.

Ed’s family and friends will be saying goodbye to him on Friday 7th June at 1pm at the Church of St Peter and St Paul, Kimpton Herts SG4 8RR. All are welcome.

A remembrance book is also being placed at the club and will be available for signing, or leaving a message in, on Thursday and Friday (30th/31st May) between 15:00 - 19:00.
