1st XV out to impress on Ladies Day

Senior

All attention will be on the 1st XV this week as they take on CS Stags 1863 at Redbourn Lane. With Ladies Lunch taking place ahead of the game there is bound to be a big crowd in attendance to see if they can go one better than previous weeks and record the first win of the season. CS Stags have rebounded well after a challenging season last year at level 5, the impacts of the pandemic on player availability left them unable to fulfil all of their league fixtures. However, this year has started fairly well for them with two wins (Medway & Tunbridge Wells) and two losses (Sudbury & Tring).

The 2nd XV are looking to go three in a row against Cheshunt 2s away from home. A brilliant 39-0 win over Fullerians last Saturday really set their stall out for the season. The mix of youth and experience proved difficult for the Watford side to stop. Meanwhile the 3rd XV are hosting Biggleswade 2s at The Field of Dream looking to build on their close defeat to Dunstablians a fortnight ago.

Our Women’s side are also in action on Sunday as they make the short journey to Welwyn, it was a brilliant start to league campaign beating Hitchin 2s 36-0 on Sunday. Welwyn were also victorious over Stockwood Park 26-15, so a top quality game is expected.

Mini, Junior & Academy

The first fixtures of the season in our age group teams are coming in thick and fast with our u14 and u16 girls sides taking on OAs, coming off second best in both fixtures but plenty of promise for the season ahead. The u16 boys had a great win against Bishops Stortford.

Coming up this Sunday is full fixture card for our minis against OAs and our u13 boys against Bishop Stortford and Hertford. The Academy teams get their league campaigns underway against Royston and Verulamians.

Events

Even though bookings are closed for our Ladies Lunch make sure that you are at the club in good time on Saturday to enjoy what we have on offer. We will have Amani’s Kitchen offering her amazing Iraqi street food and Tring brewery bringing their bar down for players and supporters to enjoy.
